About Me

Lauri is a psychotherapist who works with individuals, couples and families. She is licensed as a Professional Counselor in the state of Wisconsin. Lauri is the solo practitioner at Waukesha Counseling Services, a private, outpatient, mental health practice.  Sessions occur online via phone or Zoom sessions, or on the hiking trail.

Lauri graduated from Central Michigan University in 1983, with a degree in Clinical Psychology. She worked at a private clinic in Michigan for a few years before returning to Wisconsin, where Lauri had done her undergraduate work. She then worked at public and private mental health agencies in southeastern Wisconsin. Lauri has been in private practice for over 30 years.

Relationship struggles, psychological injuries, future hopes and fears are common themes addressed in therapy. Lauri utilizes a psychodynamic and family systems approach to understand the concerns presented in therapy, and then tailors interventions with a solution focused eye toward change. Current areas of clinical interest and focus include loss, relationship challenges and decisions, stress management, mindfulness and guided imagery. Lauri is a popular community speaker on mental health issues.
